Papers of Robert H. Kellogg, Sargent Major in the 16th Connecticut V.I. during the Civil War. Kellogg was captured and served in Andersonville Prison, later wrote book about it, and testified at the trial of John Wirz. Also includes his dedication speech for memorial to the C.V.I. at Andersonville and letters of commendation to Kellogg for public service in Ohio during World War I. Copy of letter by Mrs. Robert R. Kellogg (Sarah Bevins) from Jacksonport, Ark., 2-29-1864 to sister "Em", re. jayhawking atrocities in the area, burning, stealing, and bushwacking; need for federal troops.
